What Causes Talks About Sex And Forgetfulness In Elders?

My father is 73 years old and has suddenly started talking about sex and being very perverted in the past year. My mother passed away 2 years ago and he was never know to act like this prior. He is becoming forgetful, repeats himself alot and will not drive at night; he becomes disoriented. What might this be?

Thanks for contacting HCM

I am sorry to hear about your father and his recent change in behaviors. In addition to his behavior you have also noted increased forgetfulness and disorientation. From what you describe your father maybe experiencing the beginning of dementia, specifically frontal lobe dementia. Since his behavior has been casing significant concern and embarrassment I recommend that he seek medical attention from a neurologist or primary care doctor to help control his behavior and improve his memory.

Hope this answers your question. Please contact us again with your concerns.
