Yartour doctor has appropriately prescribed ibuprofen & paracetamol for your viral cough episode. During an Upper Respiratory tract infection episode nose becomes congested and as smell is a part of our taste sensation, we feel all foods are bland.

Some antibiotics like metronidazole causes alteration of taste sensation but it is unlikely your current medication have done this.
