What Causes Tear And Burning Feeling Of Labia After Stitches During Delivery?
I gave birth a bit over 3 weeks ago and had a second degree tear which was stitched up and has healed however it sometimes still burn down there when I pee or wash so I had a look with a mirror thus morning and it looks like I have a year inside what looks to be my labia minor (I think) it looks like it us split down the middle on the left side. Was this meant to be stitched up after birth, or is it normal to leave it. Also if left will it heal up and stop bothering me?
Hi, I have gone through your problem. You seemed to have a large tear during delivery but you need not bother. The stitches will take time to heal completely and this repair period is marked by some burning sensation .Usually small tears on labia minora, if not bleeding excessively after birth, are left as such. If the tear on the labia minora is not bleeding or there is no foul smelling discharge, then you should leave it as such. It will heal with time. Hope this answers your question. Wishing you good health.
