I have had a cold for about a week now, and yesterday I woke up with a really bad pain in the roof of my mouth. It was creating a pressure across my nose and I could feel it in my front teeth. Today there is like a spongy patch on the roof of my mouth which hurts to touch and my front teeth feel very tender.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain a sore and spongy patch over the roof of the mouth which is causing pressure and pain and tenderness of upper front teeth seems to be due to Viral infection leading to throat infection and the sore patch is the area of inflammation.. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can also advise you to do get a throat swab culture to rule out for bacterial and viral infection.. In case of infection antibiotics like Levofloxcin or cephalexin can be advised.. Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Advil or Aleve can be advised.. You can also gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. Do warm saline gargles.. Gargle with antimicrobial mouthwash.. Decongestants oral as well as nasal like Phenylephrine can be advised..
Hope this information helps..
