What Causes Tenderness And Tightness From A Blister?
I recently had 9 stitches in a cut on my right index finger. I took all the antibiotics as instructed and it healed very well. However once the dead skin/scab came off I have a blister it s very tight and hurts to stretch out my finger. Is this a normal reaction from the damage to my finger? I don t have any other issues no discoloration or redness. Just very tender and tightness from the blister. Thank you.
Hi. As per your case history you are having suture site infection. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the blister as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
