What Causes Tenderness Or Numb Pain In Left Lower Back After An Accidental Fall?
About three weeks ago I slipped on a staircase and fell on my back. I had a bruise on the left side of my lower back, below the ribcage. It was not that painful for a few days. About a week after the fall I had a bad cough and that triggered a sharp pain in the area where I would imagine the kidney is located. The pain subsided after a few hours, and I have been fine for almost two weeks. The day before yesterday, a tenderness or numb pain re-appeared in that area....what should I do? Is it likely to be serious? If it is a kidney trauma, is there anything a doctor would do other than prescribe rest?
it look like you have hit your back hard and ribs are hurt. It will take time to get rid of pain. Coughing , sneezing increasing your pain? Are you also have difficulty in sleeping on one side. These thing suggest you had a rib fracture. I would recommend you to get an x ray of you chest. It is not serious and it will subside in 2 to 3 months, because rib injuries take time to go. Diclofenec gel will also help you, so is warm shower.
