got up with terrific pain under my right rib in that area…bent over, thought I was having a heart attack.I am 83 years of age…went to er and they said I had infected gall bladder…kept me for 36 hours on pain anti biot…..sent me home…said I did not need to have gl removed…how often may I expect these. toby

Hi Thanks for posting If the have recurrent attack of pain then you may require the gall bladder to be removed.Keep the diet low in fat content.One can not predict the frequency of gall bladder infection. hope this helps. Take care
