What Causes The Appearance Of Thin Black Line At The Bottom Of Lip?

My friend had a funny turn when visiting me yesterday. She was shaky and a thin black line appeared below her bottom lip which was quite bizarre. She recovered after a cup of tea and went home. She is going through an emotion time as her newly married daughters husband has run off leaving her with a baby of a few months old. I am worried about my friend. She has recently been diagnoed with type 2 diabetes.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that she had a low blood sugar since the sensation decreased after she ingested something.

If she has repeat episodes then she may need to look at her diabetic medications and also review her diet to see how many carbohydrates she is using (may not be enough).

She would also need to see her doctor for review.

I hope this helps
