hi there
there are various causes of sore throat with body aches like
viral infections like common cold, Mononucleosis, mumps, herpangina, or influenza etc. these generally are associated with low grade fever / no fever and congestion in throat.
bacterial infection tonsillitis, Streptococcal throat infection etc. these generally are associated with high grade fever and congestion in throat.
since you are taking xyloric period not mentioned and long term but rare and serious side effects are: numbness/tingling of arms/legs, easy bleeding/bruising, signs of infection (e.g., fever, persistent sore throat), unusual tiredness, painful/bloody urination, change in the amount of urine, yellowing eyes/skin, severe stomach/abdominal pain, persistent nausea/vomiting, dark urine, unusual weight loss, eye pain, vision changes.
in my opinion you must get your Hematological investigation done esp TLC / DLC. if there is fall in TLC then it means it is viral. xyloric will produce persistant sore throat as a long term complication and require stoppage of xyloric. if TLC is on low side in that case you must cancel your trip and report to doctor and if every thing is OK then you can do the following as frequent gargles with saline water, tab Paracetamol for fever and carry some OTC antibiotics in case of fever.
