Hello,I just had my first smear test done. When the nurse pulled out the instrument there was some thick, brown discharge on it. The nurse frowned and asked if the discharge was normally smelly. I told her that I had NOT had any discharge coming out in my knickers prior to the examination, and I was obviously worried about this sudden revelation. She then refused to answer any of my questions about what might be causing it. She didn't even want to tell me if "things" generally appeared normal (i.e. from visual assessment - I have never had a doctor looking at this part of me, and felt a strong need to know if things look normal). Then she sat down to type in her notes, and I thought I had to answer a couple of routine questions, but she said I was done and quickly turned the computer away from me when she noticed I was glancing over her shoulder. The smear test itself which I had absolutely dreaded was pretty harmless, but I had not expected this absolute refusal of any information - good or bad. Can you tell me why this brown stuff is hanging out in my cervix and not coming down? Is this a symptom of something or anything? And what sort of reason might she have had when denying me any information whatsoever?? I'm so scared now that everything is completely wrong down there...Thanks for reading. Sorry it's a bit long...
