I have what appears to be extremely dry, thick skin on one ankle bone. If I try to remove layers of dry skin (e.g., pumice stone, lemon juice scrubs) it removes some scaliness, but reveals a deep crack , which has bled when I once scrubbed too vigorously. Why won t this simply resolve with lotions?
Hi. As per your case history you are having eczema on lower limb. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply an emollient cream like Enmoist cream twice daily on it. 3. Apply a tacrolimus 0.03 % ointment twice daily on it. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
