Hello,

After sex you are having odorless yellow discharge. It may be due to a change in the pH of the vagina. Soap in the vagina, spermicides or chemicals in the vaginal area, hormonal changes, sexual activity or douching the area can cause the pH of the vagina to change, resulting in such discharge.

Avoid douching the vagina and take care of your hygiene. Other medical conditions that can cause such symptoms are bacterial vaginosis (BV), trichomoniasis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, etc. Gonorrhea can cause white, yellow, or green vaginal discharge. If left untreated it can cause urinary tract infection symptoms or bleeding between periods.

Trichomoniasis also causes yellow discharge, may cause frequent urge to urinate and if left untreated may cause swelling, redness and swelling of the vulva and the vagina. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Gynae or health care provider. If you have yeast infection, you will be treated with an antifungal cream, ointment, tablet, or suppository.

Chlamydia and gonorrhea are detected by cell cultures obtained from vaginal or urethral swabs. Get STD tests done. If reports are positive, you will be treated with antibiotics and antivirals.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

Occurrence of bleeding after sex may be due to erosions or minor injuries to genital tract due to forceful act of sex. Infection of genital tract may some times cause recurrent bleeding after sex. Yellow discharge is not really indicative of an infection. If the discharge is pale yellow, odorless and not accompanied by itching or burning, it is not a cause of concern usually.

However, if the discharge is with a odor or accompanied by itching or burning, then it can be due to Sexually transmitted disease (STD), bacterial , yeast or trichomonas etc. infections. In such case, the patient requires to be evaluated by a doctor for proper diagnosis & treatment accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
