What Causes Thickened Endometrium And Mass In The Uterus?

A recent transabdominal & transvaginal ultrasound showed an 11.5mm thickened endometrium and a mass in the uterus. The radiologist recommended an MRI of the pelvis. The MRI was done six days after the ultrasound and the results were normal and found no problems in the pelvic area. This has really confused me. How can an MRI not show anything but the ultrasound did? I am postmenopausal and I was very concerned about the ultrasound results and then the MRI is normal. Can you please explain why two tests shows two completely results? Thanks you!

Hi, the results can be different. MRI is more accurate than ultrasound. So go with your MRI report. If you have any postmenopausal bleeding or spotting, you can go for a endometrial biopsy after discussing with your doctor. Hope I have answered your question.
