What Causes Thigh Itching Despite Medication?

Hi, I have a question. Four days ago I had a terrible itch on the bottom of my left thigh. I scratched it for a couple of hours at the most and when I looked at it. It was about as big as my palm. Put alcohol and anti itch meds on it. And Sunday I found it at least 2-3inches up my thigh..! And it still itches! What is this?

Hello,
Thanks for the query,
You might have developed acute urticaria.
It is an allergic condition.
Anything including food, cloth, change in climate, pollens etc can cause urticaria.
You need to find out the cause.
Treatment can be with oral anti histamines.
Steroids like prednisolone are also helpful but cannot be used for long.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
