What Causes Throat Blockage And Difficulty In Swallowing In An 81-year-old?
I have difficulty swallowing and seem to have a slight blockage in my throat. I ve been spitting up and sometimes vomiting a white foamy substance. I m 81 and this has caused me to be unable to retain much of my food intake and I have lost too much weight.

There are many causes for difficulty in swallowing, So you need to do the following tests:- 1- Complete physical examination. 2- Complete blood count. 3- Liver and kidney function tests, Electrolytes. 4- Chest X-ray. 5- Endocscopy.
Viral and bacterial infection, as well as any other causes such as abnormal masses, can be excluded by the above tests.
