What Causes Throat Pain And Dry Cough?
Hello- My throat has been hurting recently for the past 4 days. Hurts to swallow, hot foods soothes it, cold irritates it. Now I feel that it is settling into my chest and I have a dry and painful cough which is made worse by coldness. My glads and not sore or swollen either. Any ideas? Thank you... Chelsey L.

The symptoms suggest of having acute pharyngitis (inflammation of pharynx)...
it is usually viral and does not require antibiotics...in case if have already started on pain relief tabs like tab paracetamol ..continue..if not relieving you can be started on antibiotic tab amoxycillin with clavulinic acid 625 mg twice daily for 4 days along with pain relief medicines...and avoid refrigerated foods and cool drinks...
