What Causes Throat Pain And Ear Ache?

I woke up this morning with one side of my throat hurting but just thought it was allergies from our weird weather changes, but then it started to get worse and now I am having a hard time swallowing and my ear is killing me. Should I go to an urgent care facility or try to wait till morning?

Hello,

Since you have your throat hurting, gargle with warm salt water 3-4 times daily. Take non sedating antihistamines once daily for relieve. Avoid talking much and take semi solid food like oats, porridge or custard. Do not strain your throat. Since you have difficulty in swallowing and pain radiating to the ears, it is indicative of pharyngitis. Take Combiflam or Naproxen, one SOS when pain and a course of antibiotics like Augmentin. You should get a swab test and a sputum test done and get clinically examined by an ENT, to confirm diagnosis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
