Hi,
Noted your history of pain in throat while eating and swallowing, spoke to Doctor, gave
Ibuprofen, Nurse saw and told that the throat is red and swollen, gave penicillin.
Painful swallowing means there is inflammation or ulcer or so in the pathway of swallowing.
The commonest causes seen in practice are as following:
Epiglottitis.
Aphthous or aphthoid ulcers.
Tonsillitis.
Any other infection or inflammation.
This means you have to consult an ENT Surgeon for
Endoscopy to know the exact diagnosis.
Also to have relevant blood tests.
Continue Penicillin and Ibuprofen as both are good.
Further change over to any medication as per the ENT Surgeon;s opinion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
