What Causes Throat Pain While Speaking?

Hi, I've worked in a call center since November (4 months) and now speaking hurts too much to go into work.

I worked a 75 hour work-week about a month ago and by the end of the 13th hour one night my voice hurt. It has hurt ever since, even though I have not exceeded 40 hours in a week since then. I have been going through bags of cough drops every day just to stay at work- can't go 5 minutes without them. I have been speaking as softly as I can (not whispering) but my vocal cords won't heal.

At one point I took a 3 day weekend to see if my voice would heal up fully but it didn't quite work. Since then it has sloped back to even worse that what it was. I called around to some doctors in my area but they want like $250 to stick a tv down my throat. I don't know if I need to take a full week off work or learn to speak correctly or what (I don't think I speak incorrectly), or whether I should find a new job. Any advice would be appreciated.
