What Causes Throat Pain?

I have a pain in the front of my neck/throat, it feels like it is over the windpipe and also slightly to the right of my windpipe. It feels like a bruise and is sore when I press the front of my neck and also gives me pain when I move my head up or down. I haven t had any trauma to the area that I can recall. Do you know what this could be? I am a 26 year old otherwise healthy woman. I am 6ft tall and weigh 11 stone if that helps at all. Many thanks. Jen

Hi,

It's GERD/laryngitis. Antiulcer medicines can help you. Some lifestyle modifications are also required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. S.T. Balamurali, General & Family Physician
