Why do I get the feeling of pins an needles in the throat? I am a 40 yr old female, this has been going on for over 5-6 years. I ve lost track. My thyroid always test normal and the ultra sound was normal, however this wasn t in a flare up when the test took place. It may go for months without a bother but other times it s acting up for weeks. It doesn t last a long time an tends to come an go like a tickle. I will assure you it s not just a tickle. It feels as if there are many sharp points poking at once and then weird feeling follows like blood rushing down under the tissue. (Like the feeling you get when you put your head upside down for a minute an then turn upright.
