What Causes Throbbing Sensation On Penis After Treated UTI?
Hello All, Just recently I started to have a slight throbbing sensation on the right side of the tip of my penis. I just recently also got a yeast infection from my girlfriend and seem to have gotten rid of the rash. Any die of what could be causing this pain? It comes and goes and I have no trouble urinating. I am 23 years old if that helps at all.
Throbbing pain that you are having can be dull but become sharp later depending upon the degree of infection that you have. It can be due to UTI, yeast infection, STD (gonorrhea, chlamydia, genital herpes or syphilis), balanitis, allergic reactions to spermicides or latex, poor hygiene. Wear cotton clothing, take care of your hygiene and avoid sex for a couple of days.
Visit ER, get physically examined. Get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done, get STD tests done to rule out UTI or STI. In the meantime take plenty of water. Antifungals, Antibiotics are effective but take it after consultation with PCP. You can take acetaminophen or Naproxen for relieve from pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Nupur K,
