Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past couple days after a few hours of drawing, I have had this numbness on the right side of my right thumb.. I m not sure why it has been like this but since I assumed it was related to the long drawing session I have stopped doing so, however the numbness persists and there has been no change. Is there something else that could have caused it?
I have studied your case and. I think that following can be causes of this pain. 1. Cervical spondylitis - it can be due to nerve compression in the neck. It can be confirmed with x ray of the neck. 2. Low vitamin B 12. it. an be due to low b 12 in the body. it can be confirmed with blood test. 3. It can be due to nerve compression in the hand, It is called carpel tunnel syndrome. It can be confirmed by EMG / NCV test. so according to this we can plan for further management. Ineould suggest you to get above mentioned tests and than according to it we can plan for treatment. If serum B 12 is low than you can start Methylcobal tablet. if nerve compression in the hand than a surgery can be done. For cervical spondylitis we can teach you neck muscle strengthening exercises, I hope this answer will be useful for you, Let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
