I had my thyroid removed 4 weeks ago. I am having upper gas pains up near my diaphram. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with having my thyroid removed or something else. Also I have a tight choking feeling in my neck will this ever go away? thanks for your help
Hi, Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The pain in the neck can be due to gastritis. Some patients after thyroidectomy can have a tight feeling in neck. This is due the formation of scar as part of healing. This will decrease as time pass by. If you have significant problem do revisit your thyroid surgeon.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help With warm regards, Dr Ajish TP (MD,DM) Consultant Endocrinologist.
