What Causes Tightness In Chest?

I have had a tight feeling in the middle of my chest since Tuesday evening. It feels like something is stuck in my chest. I was not able to get in to see my PCP yet, but will try again tomorrow. Could it be my gallbladder? I took anti acids, but did not help. I hate to rush to the hospital for indigestion.

Thanks for your question On HCM. In central chest pain we need to rule out three things. Heart , lung problems and GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease).
ECG should be done for heart issues.
Chest x ray should be done for lung issues.
If all these are normal than most probably it is due to GERD. Only antacids will not help. You have to do following steps along with antacids.
1. Avoid spicy and oily food.
2. Avoid heavy meals, take frequent small meals.
3. Avoid stress and anxiety.
4. Go for walk after meals.
5. Take good antacids like pantoprazole or rabeprazole with prokinetic levosulperide.
6. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in bed.
