What Causes Tightness In My Throat While Swallowing?
Diameter of back of my throat is considerably smaller that in the past. Difficulty swallowing food , meds, etc. Trip to the dentist is a night mare. Back of my throat seems very sensitive to accumulation of water. I have GERD and sleep apnea . Read food allergies can cause excess growth of tissue. You opinion would be apreciated. Thx.
As you have chronic dysphagia & GERD so i would suggest you to visit gastroenterologist. He would perform Upper GI Endoscopy to conform if there is any mechanical obstruction or anything else that is causing the symptoms. Tingling sensation in throat can be due to "sore throat". Meanwhile i would suggest you following:
> Take hot water in a cup, add 1 table spoon salt in it. Perform gargles (mouth wash) with it three times a day for at least 3 days. It will give soothing effect. > Try to take lighter meal at night. Avoid fatty meal > Try to raise head end of your bed by few inches. It will also decrease symptoms of GERD at night.
