Hi dear and thanks for your query.

As you describe you have labor pain and you may have premature labor .
As you are 36 weeks and you continue to have pain and you have lost mucus plug ,your cervix is dilated 1 cm you may need to have tocolilic therapy( to stop labor pain ) and cortisonics to help fetal pulmonary maturation .
Hence go to hospital .

All the best

OBGYN Dr. Nishikant Shrotri's  Response
Hi, welcome to HCM!

Throughout the pregnancy, the uterus is continually contracting and relaxing. These are known as Braxton Hick's contractions. As the pregnancy goes advancing, the power, duration and frequency of contractions goes on increasing and in later months of pregnancy you feel them appreciably. Yopu are 36 weeks pregnant, so it is but natural that you will feel these contractions.

If you have lost your mucous plug and the cervix is 1 cm dilated, you are in imminent labour (provided this is your first pregnancy). However, if this is second pregnancy onwards, the cervix may be dilated 1 cms much before you go in labour.

36 weeks is rather too early to go in labour. Try to pull on for one more week at least with yor obstetrician's advice and maximum rest. By 37 weeks, the baby is fully matured.

Take due precautions. Happy motherhood to you!
