What Causes Tightness In The Head?

My son is feeling very tight in his head and forehead...As how he wore some band.and he is feeling tough to lift his eyebrows..Ears are blocked ......Feel like vomiting....He went to doctor and done all tests like ENT,c t scan....All reports are normal...Then why he is suffering like this? His age 19 years...He stays in hostel.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Noted the history about your 19 year old son and understood your concerns. My thoughts and suggestions are as below. Tightness in head and forehead needing to put a band on forehead in spite of normal ENT examination, CT scan needs further clinical evaluation by a Neurologist, investigations for vascular pains like migraine, arteritis. If all the tests are normal then probably blood pressure has not been taken as hypertension even in young age is one of the cause of such a problem. Psychological angle also has to be kept in mind as he is staying in hostel. Second opinion of another ENT Surgeon will be welcome in case of ear blockage, nausea and so on for getting possible ENT cause and get a proper management.
