yes you have developed diabetic neuropathy due to improper blood sugar controll for long time which is quite common in type 2 DM, your doctor has given you proper drug, you should manage your blood sugar level , should consumes adequate vitamin and micronutrients including antioxidants, vitamin B12 and B6, should do aerobics and morning walk. you should also keep your eyes on your kidney function by geting your blood pressure , routine examination urine for microalbuminuria as diabetic nephropathy is also one of the long term complication of DM.
