Hi. My husband, Chris, has been experiencing some pressure upper middle stomach discomfort. He also had some tingling in his fingers and up his left arm. He is also complaining of pain in top and back of left shoulder. Earier while doing some work outside (hot day) he looked very white with red splotches. His father has had a couple of heart attacks around this same age. Although he says he s feeling better now, I m worried. What do you think?
Hi. As per your case history your husband is having symptoms suggestive of vitamin b12 deficiency. My treatment advice is - 1. Take good nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables and milk. 2. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain. 3. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months. 4. Other treatment options are oral gabapentin, injectable vitamin b12 given only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
