What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Tongue And Increased Heart Rate While On Clarithromycin?
I took the second tablet of apo clarithromycin 500mg and realize that my tounge was tingling and the part closest to the throat seem enlarged, added to this I had a severe headache and my heart rate increased, is right to assume this is an allergic reaction
Tingling in the tongue and swelling in the throat area are not the typical symptoms of an allergic reaction. It seems to be an atypical manifestation. While you are on Clarithromycin and it is a known drug for causing the hypersensitivity. So the given symptoms cannot be neglected and it can be an allergic reaction. You can stop taking the drug and this will confirm the condition.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
