What Causes Tingly Feeling In Hand While Sneezing?

Yesterday I slightly injured my left hand playing with one of my kids... Last night as I tried to sleep I noticed my my left arm/hand was mildly achy... My hand is fine today but the feeling in my left arm is still present although not all the time - I notice it the most when I sneeze - the feeling goes down my left arm and into my hand and my hand feels tingly - I am 39 years old and over weight with a thyroid condition that is not properly taken care of with medication. I don t know if the initial injury is the cause of the discomfort or if it s something that I need to have checked out.

Hello,

A tingly feeling in the hand after injury may be due to anxiety, bone fracture, pinched nerve in the wrist (or carpal tunnel syndrome) but it can be also the sign of developing CAD/ Neuropathy.

You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. You will be treated if it is due to anxiety, pinched nerve, injury or fracture. If developing CAD or Neuropathy is suspected/detected you will be referred to a cardiologist or a Neurologist.

You will have to go through a series of Blood & Imaging tests to detect the pathology causing you discomfort. Your treatment will depend on the severity of the pathology detected.

You can take Acetaminophen or Naproxen, one sos when needed for relief. Take vitamin B6, B12, folic acid rich food or supplements to reduce tingly feeling. If diabetic control your blood glucose levels at all cost.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
