What Causes Tinnitus And Nose Bleeding After A Whiplash Injury?

hi, I am 49 years of age weigh around 9st and I am a smoker. I had a car accident 3 months ago resulting in whip lash and a continual ringing in the left ear, last week I started with a cold and every time I blow my nose my left nostril bleeds, is it anything to worry about ???

Hello,

Vigorous blowing may lead to bleeding from the nose. Also, tinnitus may be due to eustachian tube block or cranial nerve injury or edema or allergy.

Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

Avoid blowing of the nose. Use normal saline nasal spray.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
