What Causes Tinnitus With Vision Blurring And Lightheadedness?
Hello I have a weird noise in my right ear. Kind of like I m in a tunnel or something. It s hard to explain but then I also get to the point where I have to close my eyes tightly because they feel funny. I also feel sort of light headed. My head starts feeling funny and my vision goes blurry just briefly. What is going on?
Hi. Your symptoms are rather unusual. After reading your brief query it sounds like you have unilateral tinnitus (In the Right ear) which means perceiving an abnormal sound without an external stimulus. The associated light headedness and vision blurring points to something neurological. It may be possible that something is pressing upon the right auditory nerve - Can also be some inflammatory swelling within the brain or a lesion. Similar symptoms may also be possible due to ototoxicity with some medications or certain food items.
To evaluate this further I would recommend an ENT evaluation, a hearing test (PTA) and an MRI of the brain. If nothing comes up on these, then you probably do not need to worry and allow the symptoms to take its natural course before they subside.
