What Causes Tiny Droplets Of Dried Blood Under The Cuticles Of Fingernails?

I have tiny droplets of what looks like dried blood under the cuticles of most of my fingernails. I am a 54-year-old female and have no other health problems that I am aware of. This began about ten years ago, on one finger, and has continued to spread. Is this an indicator of a broader health issue?
