What Causes Tiredness And Stiff Neck?

Hi I have been taking 50microgram of Levothyroxine since March 2012. Things have improved but I am still feeling tired, gaining weight despite exercising and still suffering from a stiff neck. My main concern is the tiredness. Had blood test about 4 weeks ago and was normal it was normal ??.
Do you think 50mg is sufficient for a 57 year old male weighing 10stone.
Greatly value advice.

Hi welcome to HCM....

Diagnosis : uncontrolled hypothyroidism seems most likely ....

You have not mentioned your t3, t4 and tsh level ....

In hypothyroidism aim is to maintain TSH within normal limit between 2 to 3. ....

You are taking 50 ug levothyroxine ...If this dose doesn't able to maintain TSH level normal than dose increased to 75 or 100 ug ....

With control of hypothyroidism your fatigue will be corrected as fatigue is because of hypothyroidism in your case ..

So consult physician with T3, T4 and TSH report and dosage adjusted according to test results. ...

Take care ....
