What Causes Toe Pain In The Left Foot?

I am experiencing pain in one toe on my left foot. It is the toe next to my big toe. The pain comes and goes but on this occasion the pain has lasted approximately three to four days. I have recently suffered a stroke in the month of October. I have been told my medical personnel any experience with tingling numbness or pain it is imperative to have my vital signs checked at a hospital. The pain has kept me awake for a good part of tonight.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It may be due to peripheral vascular disease where the blood supply to your leg is reduced and causes pain. We have to rule out other causes before commencing the treatment.

Consult a general surgeon and get an ultrasound Doppler to assess the blood supply to the feet. As of now you can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
