What Causes Torso And Pelvis Pain Prior To Childbirth?
I have constant pain in my left side of my torso. I'm 39 weeks pregnant and the pain has been starting to radiate through my torso and back and down in my pelvis. does this sound like labor to you or another health issue? this is my second time i've felt it today and it's gotten worse.
The pain in torso during pregnancy, particularly when you are approaching term is more due to the backward bending position that has occurred due to shift in the centre of gravity of the body. When you start getting low back ache near term, it denotes that the cervix - mouth of the uterus has started stretching and/or opening up. This happens about a week earlier in first pregnancy since in her the cervix gets stretched earlier. The pain of the cervix is felt at low back. Yes, what you suspect is likely to be correct, you might be on the verge of starting the labour pains. Better show your obstetrician.
