Had Hemorroid surgery 5 days ago, removed three external and several internal, having trouble urinating. Have a stream but little volume. Always feels like I have a nearly full bladder. No fever. What can I do to empty my bladder? Should I be concerned about a uti? Rectum usually starts to spasm when I start forcing me to stop urinating.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Don't worry it is because of reflex spasm of the urethral sphincter secondary to pain at surgical site. I would suggest you to go for warm sitz bath at least thrice a day, plenty of fluids and high fibre diet. Also get a routine urine examination done.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
