What Causes Twinge In Chest And Numbness In Fingers?
my dad has high blood pressure and recently found out he has 4 blockages. he was sent home from hospital to allow blood thinner meds to leave his body. but right now he is feeling a twinge in his chest and tired and some numbness in his fingers, should he go back to hospital.
I understand your concern.Your father has underlying coronary artery disease which is causing the symptoms and discomfort. It extremely important that he should be hospitalised in case if the chest symptoms recur.I advise you to have a baseline EKG and 2 dimensional echocardiography to rule out organic heart lesions with an evidence on cardiac function reserve.Definitive management consists of percutaneous coronary intervention in the form of metallic stenting to control the symptoms and improve the blood flow.Reduction of blood pressure is also very important in your case.Discuss the above with your Cardiologist.Post your further queries,if any. Thank you.
