What Causes Twitching In Chest Area?

Hi,My father is 62 years old and is aroung 60 Kgs and 5'4" tall.He has a twitching sensation in the right chest area almost towards the center of the chest and it lasts a few seconds.This is occuring almost 2 times every hour for the last 3 days. He has BP problem which is in control due to medication .Please let me know if this can be realted to any kind of heart problem?? I am worried

I can understand your concern.
Yes, this twitching sensations can be due to arrhythmia (rhythm disturbances in heart).
He is known case of hypertension, so he is at risk of arrhythmia.
So we should definitely rule out arrhythmia first in his case.
So consult cardiologist and get done blood pressure monitoring, ecg, 2d echo and Holter monitoring (24 hours continuous recording of ecg).
He may need anti arrhythmia drugs too.
Along with this, strict control of blood pressure and salt restricted diet are required.
Don't worry, he will be alright.
But first rule out arrhythmia.
