Hi there, I've just been woken up by a strange twitching about an inch above the tip of my left ear, and about half an inch forward. It doesn't hurt but it was actually causing my jaw to deviate very slightly when it spasamed! Still happening, kind of randomly but abou 2 times every 3 seconds. Anything to be worried about?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain it seems like some disorder related to Facial nerve causing facial nerve palsy and it seems to be due to either trauma of infection [viral] to the facial nerve which supplies muscles of the face and any disorder related to it can cause twitching and paralysis of muscles leading to drooping of the effected side of face along with deviation of chin to unaffected side.. You should not delay and consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and in case of nerve related issue he can advise you to take steroids, multivitamins an doing warm compresses and physiotherapy.. In case of viral infection antiviral medication like Acyclovir can also be advised.. As of now do warm compresses and take vitamin B complex..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
