What Causes Two Small Bilateral Bumps On The Roof Of The Mouth?

24 year old male, no significant PMH. I snorted meth a couple nights ago and now have two small bilateral bumps on the roof of my mouth, about 0.5cm from the midline and about at the junction of the hard palate and softe palate. They are not painful and are both red and slightly inflamed. I did not have sex so I'm not worried about it being an STI. I have no other bumps, cuts, lesions or abnormalities in my mouth or lips. I'm thinking it's probably related to dry mouth and abrasion from my tongue, but am not sure. Any idea what it may be? And how long should I expect the bumps to remain? Anything I can do to help the healing process?

Hi,

Mouth sores are common after meth use. The metabolites of meth can be excreted through mucosal linings and this favors the development of sores. The bumps should be gone in a week to ten days. You can hasten the healing process by taking B complex vitamin supplements, lots of fluids and by avoiding hot drinks as well as meth.

Best wishes.
