Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hey doc I'm 26 yrs old 5ft 9 in and I weigh 118 lbs. Way too skinny, I've been the same weight since beginning of highschool, I've been diagnosed with some sort of infection in my blood bt don't know what yet, could this be what's been causing me to be so skinny? Plus I am cronicly fatigued all the time, been that way for around 4 yrs
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Ideal weight for your height is 144 lbs. After going through your narration of blood report abnormality, i am suspecting that you might be suffering from anemia, which means decrease in blood counts. Anemia can be a cause for low weight and it also a cause for excessive fatigue. If I were your treating Doctor i would suggest you to undergo following blood test complete blood picture ( to know your blood counts) peripheral blood smear ( to know type of anemia you are having)
I suggest you to take jaggery instead of white sugar which is a rich source of iron and add green leafy vegetables to your diet to improve your fatigue.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
