I have an uneven jowl line one side of my face right at my jaw to my chin and underneath a little bit around the neck is bigger(noticebaly) than the other side. People often ask if i have an abssess tooth because it kind of resembles that but i have had this since about the age 13 and it wont go away the more weight i gain the more noticable it gets. When i was about 13/14 yrs old i had lipo on it to try to get it away because its no mass or tumor. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this? it is making me very uncomfortable with my self image:(
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The uneven jaw line can be because of any defect in the jaw bones like condylar hyperplasia or hypoplasia or hemimandibular hypertrophy or atrophy. So consult a oral physician and get yourself examined to rule out the above said causes. You may have to get some radiographic investigations done like OPG, PA view and TMJ views. Once we diagnose it later we can manage accordingly with surgery. I hope my answer will help you, take care.
