What Causes Unilateral Testicular Swelling?

Following a positive chlamydia test, treated, retested following treatment which was negative. Several weeks later having some unilateral testicular swelling with mild erythema and edema and some moments of very minimal pain. Is this going to subside itself and is it directly a result of the earlier infection? Thank you!

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

First of all, do not panic. I will suggest that please seek prescription support from your treating doctor for a broad-spectrum antibiotic like Doxycycline twice a day for ten days. Please use tablet Paracetamol as needed for pain and swelling as needed. Use of scrotal support for a couple of months. Avoid unnecessary handling, trauma to scrotal areas.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
 Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar
