What Causes Urinary Discomfort When Diagnosed With UTI?

A week ago I developed a Bladder discomfort on a Friday. I m female and 67. My physician had inexplicably retired just at that time. So the NP in the office referred me to a nearby emergency clinic on that Saturday. I was diagnosed with a UTI and given an RX for a 2/d seven day course of antibiotic. On the following Monday I got a call from the clinic telling me That the lab report confirmed I did in fact have a UTI, but I only needed to take the RX for 3 days not 7. So I stopped on day 3. Dr. But today, the urinary discomfort returned. It s Saturday, still no new Dr. But the urinary discomfort has returned. Should I resume the taking the remaining antibiotic over the weekend until I can make contact with a new Dr.?
