What Causes Urinary Retention While Having Kidney Problem?
Hi, my boyfriend seems to be suffering at the moment from not being able to urinate. he has a constant urge to wee and has drunk loads of water over the past few hours, yet he still can not pass the fluid. he is in a lot of pain and doesnt know what to do. he has tried a catheter as he suffers from a lot of kidney problems, and has sat on the toilet for ages at a time and tried to wee but nothing is working. What is the problem and what can he/we do to solve it?! thank you!
Hello Thanks for query .Unable to pass urine even after drinking plenty of water associated with pain and urge to pass urine could be due to retention of urine due to stricture Urethra and needs to consult qualified Urologist for evaluation
Ask him to go to emergency room for catheterization and to empty the bladder drain rather than trying catheterization at home .
Further treatment will depend upont the investigations .
