What Causes Urinary Retention?

Hello, I have no problem urinating, and do not go during the evening. My problem is during the day I can t empty my bladder completely. I go and it appears empty, do the scrotum pump, shake the penis etc, but still a bit more urine comes out after putting it away, leaving a wet spot. I m a fifty year old male with no health problems. Also saw a doctor ruled out cancer, thought I m passing stones.

Urinary retention should be investigated. Men your age commonly have benign prostate enlargement, and you should have a prostate exam, and perhaps try an alpha-adrenergic blockers, i.e. Tamsulosine.
