What Causes Uterus To Feel Hard?

I am 44 yr old..... i had a tubal ligation at 31. I experience heavy, regular( i mean, every 23 days regular) periods; night sweats; mood swings(big time!); and my uterus feels hard(like I m pregnant but I know I m not) right after my period stops. Am I in perimenopause?
